Congratulations and Welcome to 51ÂÜÀò!
We are looking forward to your arrival to 51ÂÜÀò! Whether you are a first-year student or a transfer student, our Orientation Sessions are designed to help you learn about RWU, meet other students and navigate your success for the start of the Fall 2024 Semester.
- First-Year Students
- Transfer Students
- First Year or Transfer Students living out-of-region (outside of New England, New York and New Jersey) or traveling from outside the United States
- International Students
Please note: Transfer students who have less than 24 credits transferring into 51ÂÜÀòwill need to attend the First-Year Students Orientation and should visit that page. Required Online Courses: Hawks Online Training
Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, AlcoholEdu, Sexual Assault Prevention, and Mental Wellbeing
Welcome new 51ÂÜÀòstudents! 51ÂÜÀò partners with Vector Solutions whose mission is to help college students address critical life skills such as alcohol misuse prevention, sexual assault prevention, and building relationships with people different from themselves. Each year over 500,000 students complete these courses.
As part of our New Student Orientation, 51ÂÜÀò expects you to complete 4 online courses:
- Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging,
- AlcoholEdu (alcohol education),
- Sexual Assault Prevention, and
- Mental Well-being.
These 4 courses can assist you in establishing healthy, positive relationships and making well-informed decisions about issues that affect your college years and beyond.
Information on the Vector Solutions program will be sent to students via email and discussed at the June Orientation program. The online courses will not begin until the end of July for new students starting 51ÂÜÀòfor the Fall 2024 semester.
Part 1 Courses - Due by Tuesday, August 20th
As part of our comprehensive prevention program for new students, you will need to complete the following four (4) courses:
- Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
- AlcoholEdu
- Sexual Assault Prevention
- Mental Wellbeing
The courses will be available for you to complete on or around the last week of July. You will receive an email directly to your 51ÂÜÀòemail account when the courses are ready for you to complete. Included in that email will be a unique link for you to access your Vector portal. All four courses must be completed prior to August 20th. Not completing these 4 separate courses will delay your check-in process and start of your semester.
Part 2 Surveys - Due by October 11th
Around 30-45 days upon completing each course in Part 1, you will receive an e-mail inviting you to take Part 2 (brief follow up surveys) which are due by October 11, 2024.
Important Information for Getting Started
- You will need internet access and audio capabilities. The courses can be completed on a laptop, tablet or smartphone.
- Courses are best supported by the latest versions of Chrome (preferred), Firefox, and Safari.
- You may take the course(s) in multiple sittings. Please take your time learning from engaging with these research-based courses. Do not log out until you hit the next button or you will have to repeat the section.
- The courses may include surveys to help personalize your experience and measure students’ attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential; the school will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students’ answers.
- Each course takes about 45 minutes-hour to complete so make sure you take them well before the start of the fall semester.
