Center for Advanced Financial Education Leader Hired as Audit Accountant for Global Firm
Jacquelyn Beaulieu ’23, a Finance and Accounting double major, has accepted a position as an audit accountant for RSM US LLP, part of a global network of independent audit, tax, and consulting firms, in their Boston office.
Learning Leadership: “I really wanted to capitalize on every opportunity given to me here. I added Finance as a second major and got into the Center for Advanced Financial Education (CAFE) program. I was promoted halfway through the fall semester to Associate Director of CAFE and was the only manager this spring semester. The opportunity has taught me how to speak up and voice my opinion as well as how to respect others’ opinions. I learned a lot about industry and all realms of business – things I never thought I needed to or could learn in college. It also gave me a lot of networking opportunities, which was amazing.”
Internship Experience: “Mary Santoro from the Center for Career and Professional Development has been amazing. She helped me with the whole process of getting an accounting internship with the TJX Companies’ corporate finance office last summer. Working with other interns, we created a cost-savings initiative project, which we presented to various CEOs. We were able to talk about our ideas. There are a lot of interpersonal skills I learned through the internship.”
Support from Professors: “One of the most supportive people was (Michael) ‘Doc’ Melton (Director of CAFE). He had full confidence in me and pushed me to do things I never would have thought I was capable of doing. He made sure I got opportunities and was a great support system.”
Beaulieu, of Sandwich, Mass., was part of the Honors Program, captain of the Softball Team, and president of the Photography Club, among other roles.
