BRISTOL, R.I. – Community , BBQ, and playlists helped kick off the fall semester at the 2019 Involvement Fair.

The annual event provides an opportunity for student organizations to recruit new members and for students to find involvement possibilities on campus.

“The involvement fair signifies how our students are active members of our Roger community and how each group makes a difference here,” said Assistant Dean of Students Carol Sacchetti.

Elfreda Hoff, a senior business management major and dance minor, is involved in the Admissions diversity board, Entrepreneurs Club, African Student Coalition, and the Multicultural Student Union.

“Being involved in these clubs and organizations has helped me meet people of different cultures and backgrounds. I hope that this will continue to help students make a community on campus,” said Hoff.

This year, there are over 70 clubs and organizations that students can participate in: Student Senate, pre-professional societies, non-profit organizations, talent and skill groups, as well as athletic opportunities.

“I’m joining the Habitat for Humanity club because it will help me get involved and I love giving back to the community,” psychology major Emily Goff ’23 said.

Not only were there informational booths to inform the student community, but ice cream trucks and BBQ satisfied their lunchtime cravings.

Some student booths handed out more than just pamphlets, offering Roger gear and raffles to students who stopped by.

Students still have the opportunity to get involved in clubs and organizations by visiting specific group hawk link pages or by contacting studentprograms@rwu.edu.
